IT Support and Platform Specialist

 

 

 

Role Overiew: 

As we establish our new Boston-area location, we are looking for a hands-on IT professional who is passionate about technology, enjoys working closely with people, and thrives in a dynamic, fast-growing environment.

In this key role, you will serve as the primary IT contact for our U.S. organization, providing support to employees at our Boston and Atlanta locations as well as to a largely remote workforce across the United States. You will ensure reliable day-to-day IT operations while partnering closely with our global IT team. From end-user support and device management to user training and local infrastructure coordination, you will play a vital role in creating an efficient, secure, and modern workplace. You will be responsible for: 

 

IT Support & Employee Experience

  • Provide responsive on-site and remote support for hardware, software, Microsoft 365 applications, mobile devices, meeting rooms, printing, and connectivity issues.
  • Manage incidents and service requests from start to finish, ensuring clear communication and timely resolution.
  • Support employee onboarding, role changes, and offboarding, including user accounts, access rights, and device lifecycle management.
  • Create and maintain user-friendly documentation, knowledge articles, and support materials.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and the global IT organization when required.

 

Modern Workplace & Platform Administration

  • Manage Windows devices and mobile endpoints through Microsoft Intune.
  • Support and administer Microsoft 365 services including Teams, Outlook, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
  • Assist with application deployment, compliance policies, patch management, endpoint security, and asset management.
  • Support identity and access management activities within Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Monitor device health and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.

 

Local Infrastructure & Site Operations

  • Provide hands-on support for LAN, Wi-Fi, internet connectivity, printers, and meeting-room technology.
  • Perform first-level troubleshooting of network and infrastructure topics.
  • Coordinate local IT installations, workplace moves, and vendor activities.
  • Contribute to business continuity by maintaining documentation and ensuring equipment readiness.

 

Training & Digital Adoption

  • Deliver onboarding sessions, workshops, and end-user training on Microsoft 365 and workplace technologies.
  • Develop practical training materials and user guides.
  • Promote secure and efficient ways of working while driving adoption of standard tools and processes.

 

 

You should bring the following with you:   

  • Education in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Administration, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on professional experience.
  • Experience in IT Support, Service Desk, or Workplace Technology environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 (Teams, Outlook, Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive).
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune and endpoint management.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Entra ID, identity management, and IT security best practices.
  • Solid networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, VPN).
  • Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive, reliable, and hands-on approach with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Ability to work effectively with both local users and global teams.
  • Fluent English; German is a plus.
